Valhmor Montfort started his musical studies at the age of 9 at the School of Arts in Valletta with Mro. Carmelo Callus and after with violinist Claude Busuttil of which he was a great influence and also tuition with Mro. Joseph Gatt. Further, he continued his studies with  Mro. Christopher Muscat obtaining good musical skills and has been selected to join the ‘National Youth Orchestra of Malta’ and after joining the Malta National Orchestra as a part timer for three years where he gained a lot of experience playing major works under good local and foreign conductors. 

In December 2006 he took part in musical master classes at the ‘ESMUC’ (Catalunya Music Conservatory) of Barcelona under the guidance of Prof. Kai Greitburg. In August 2007 attended  master classes at the ‘Accademia Jacoponapoli’ at Cava di Terreni – Salerno with Prof. Marcello Canci and recently he also attended master classes at the ‘Conservatio Santa Cecilia' in Rome with Prof. Camillo Grasso. Valhmor is currently a violinist with the Malta Philarmonic Orchestra.

Michael-Alfred Saliba started his musical tuition in theory and pianoforte under the guidance of his mother, Doris Saliba, ATCL, LTCL, at the age of six.  This helped him to start his violin studies with his lifelong teacher and mentor, Tatjana Chircop, ATCL, LTCL.  Apart from attending the Johann Strauss School of Music and taking part in its Junior, Senior and Chamber Orchestras, Michael-Alfred completed all the Trinity and ABRSM theory graded exams (2005), obtained Grade 5 with Honours (2004) in Trombone with Mro Paul Borg, ATCL, LTCL, FTCL, LRSM, finished the ABRSM piano exams till grade 7 (2001), and achieved three diplomas in Recital Violin:  ATCL (2004), LTCL with Distinction (2007) and the LRSM (2008). 

He also successfully completed the Certificate of Higher Education in Music at the UCE Birmingham Conservatoire between 2006-2007. On several occasions he joined orchestras and performed sacred, classical and different genres of music. He is currently a full-time violin with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, after having been a member of both the National Youth Orchestra and the former National Orchestra of Malta. During his studies in UK, Michael-Alfred was coached in violin studies and technique by Ken Aiso, with whom he also attended special classes after 2007 in Kent.  He also had violin lessons with Nathaniel Vallois, the senior tutor at Birmingham’s conservatoire, and with Rimma Sushanskaya in Stratford.
